The 52,000 sq. ft. expansion of the Caledon East Community Complex demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability. Energy-efficient solutions, including LED lighting, reduce consumption by approximately 186,000 kWh annually. The use of electric motors and VFD controllers further lowers emissions, cutting an estimated 3.36 tons of COâ‚‚ each year.

Waste heat recovery from the ice plant is repurposed to heat the pool, preserving the equivalent of 32 acres of forest annually. This recovered energy also supports in-floor heating in the library and lobby, diverting the equivalent of 730 trash bags from landfills each year.
