Pickering Village Restoration
As part of the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings (GICB) Grant, BBA led key renovations to Redman House at Pickering Museum Village, focusing on energy efficiency and accessibility improvements.
The energy upgrades included comprehensive insulation of the building envelope, new high-performance siding and roofing, and significant enhancements to the mechanical and electrical systems—such as energy-efficient HVAC and LED lighting—to reduce consumption and improve comfort. To improve accessibility, a new exterior ramp was added, and automated door operators were installed to meet current accessibility standards and ensure ease of access for all users.
These upgrades not only modernize the facility but also preserve its historical character, creating a more inclusive and sustainable community space.
